Long story short, the DNS servers for the edublogs domain were unresponsive. In simple terms, think of it as opening up your local telephone white pages and finding them all blank. You're unable to find the telephone number of the person you need to call. This step is added as a security feature so that if someone gains access to your account, they won't be able to completely take it over.
